- Had a traumatic upbringing that has left emotional scars.
- Want to make some changes to your life or work.
Whatever your need, I offer a variety of services from integrative* counselling and EMDR therapy, to coaching for pro-active changes. I am here to listen to you and support you in a friendly, safe, non-confrontational and non-judgemental space. I can help you understand your emotions and behaviours and work through them to develop a healthier way to engage with yourself and others.
I am a professional, qualified and experienced therapist, and specialise in the use of EMDR and therapy for trauma, anxiety, low self-confidence, stress, phobias, developmental trauma and addictions. I am also a therapeutic coach, utilising a Personal Consultancy framework for business, executive and life coaching, which is a new and effective blend of coaching and counselling techniques. This enables me to help you identify what changes you would like to make in your life, and find the way that will work best for you. I will support and champion you throughout your journey and help you reach your goal. Depending upon your needs and wants, I can use either counselling or coaching techniques, or blend the two ( as in the Personal Consultancy model), to help you achieve your desired results.
* Integrative counselling draws on theoretic models of counselling such as such as CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), solution-focused, psychotherapy, Gestalt,NLP, transactional analysis and person centred.
I run regular ResidentialTrauma-Reduction Workshops in the UK and abroad, in partnership with two other well-respected and experienced therapists. These are specifically designed to help people change the way they relate to themselves and others and are based upon the Pia Melody model of developmental trauma. Developmental trauma is when someone has been brought up in difficult, distressing or traumatic circumstances which has affected their ability to think, feel and behave from what is known as the "functional adult" part of self; instead they find themselves feeling distressed, angry, hurt, ashamed, lonely, abandoned or sad without fulling understanding why, or knowing what to do about it. These workshops offer a unique and life-changing opportunity to be held in a safe, warm and welcoming environment, whilst being gently supported through an intensive process that helps the individual review their self-perceptions and beliefs. The results are an increased self-understanding and sense of control and freedom in relationships with self and others.
